My TSW XPanel UI Isn't Showing Up?

If a Crestron TSW touch screen is powered up but is not displaying the ShowRunner™ splash screen, the cause is usually one of two things:

  1. The ShowRunner™ UI has not been loaded to the TSW
  2. The TSW is in the incorrect application mode

Issue 1 is resolved by loading the appropriate ShowRunner™ UI file during startup (use the normal CI_ShowRunner-v3.xxx.puf for TSW-770 or the CI_ShowRunner-UI-v3.xxx.puf file for other models)

Issue 2 frequently arises when a new TSW has been installed and powered up prior to startup, as it is very easily to accidentally launch the TSW into the incorrect application. To resolve this, there are two options:

  1. Change the selected application from the TSW interface:
    • Enter the TSW setup mode by pressing and holding five fingers to the TSW screen
    • Navigate to the Application Selection menu
    • Ensure that "User Project" is selected as the current application
    • Save & Exit to apply the changes and restart the TSWW
  2. Change the selected application from Toolbox:
    • Connect to the TSW in Text Console
    • Run the appmode command to verify current status; run appmode disable command if appmode is not already disabled
    • Run reboot command to restart the TSW

If the TSW is not on at all (screen is black), then it is likely a cabling/termination or network issue (TSWs are power-over-ethernet, and require not just an Ethernet connection but an Ethernet connection to a switch capable of providing POE).

If the TSW is showing a certificate error, see our article here to resolve.

If the TSW is showing a ShowRunner™ logo but it should be showing a custom logo, see this article.

If you are seeing a "CNX Connection disconnected" badge on the TSW, then the TSW cannot communicate with the processor. Ensure that the processor has ShowRunner™ installed and running with the correct configuration and that the TSW has the correct IP table entries for the processor.
