*ZUMNET-JBOX Load Controllers

ZUMNET-JBOX devices are distributed lighting controllers that comprise the networked portion of a Zūm Wired system. Typically, each room will have just one ZUMNET-JBOX device that connects to the Zūm Net lighting network and may optionally host one or more Zūm Link devices. All diagrams on this page are from Crestron's official quick start guide (mirror).

All ZUMNET-JBOXs have two purple ZUMNET (LAN) ports and two orange ZUMLINK (ROOM) ports:

  • One ZUMNET (LAN) port should come from the previous Zūm Net device or a Hub panel
  • One ZUMNET (LAN) port should go to the next Zūm Net device or remain unused
  • One ZUMLINK (ROOM) port should go to the first Zūm Link device on the first Zūm Link run
  • One ZUMLINK (ROOM) port should go to the first Zūm Link device on the second Zūm Link run

It is important to note that while there are two ZUMLINK ports, Zūm Link runs should never be looped back to a ZUMNET-JBOX. Zūm Link runs should originate at a ZUMNET-JBOX, connect to a number of Zūm Link devices, and then stop at the last Zūm Link device. The reason for having multiple ZUMLINK ports is ease of installation; for example, if there are two ZUMLINK-KP keypads in a room, it might be easier to put them at the end of two separate runs so that only one RJ-45 terminated Zūm Link cable needs to be pulled through conduit.

In Figure 1, ZUMLINK ports are shown in orange, ZUMNET ports are shown in purple, and the sensor input block is between them.

ZUMNET-JBOX-16A-LV Wiring

The ZUMNET-JBOX-16A-LV attaches to a standard 4" or 4-11/16" junction box through a 1/2" knockout. High voltage AC and 0-10V dimming splices are made inside of the junction box, while low-voltage Zūm Net, Zūm Link, and non-system sensor connections are made outside of the junction box.

Non-system sensors (including Crestron GLS-ODT-C-NS sensors, GLA-LDL photocells, and Steinel occupancy sensors) may be landed at the sensor input terminal block of ZUMLINK-JBOX devices.

Override Input

The override input can be connected to a keyswitch in order to allow for a manual hardware override. Alternatively it may be connected to a GLA-PLS phase loss sensor to meet emergency automatic override requirements.
